Revel Republic’s Vision for Navy Pier Marina
February 14, 2025
A New Era of Boating and Lifestyle Experiences
“Our vision for the Chicago International Boat Show at Navy Pier Marina is to create more than just an event; it’s about curating a destination that celebrates the boating lifestyle and connects people with unforgettable experiences,” said Hany Ghabour, President of Revel Republic and the Boat Show Circuit. “We’re blending the best of luxury, adventure, and cutting-edge technology to bring a show that resonates with both first-time boaters and seasoned enthusiasts. This show will be a game-changer for the region and an important platform for our partners and exhibitors to connect with the right audience. By combining luxury, adventure, and cutting-edge marketing, CHIBS will offer an unforgettable event that introduces new audiences to the boating world while reigniting the passion of seasoned enthusiasts.”
The Chicago International Boat Show at Navy Pier Marina will feature exclusive exhibits from leading marine brands, luxury automotive showcases, VIP entertainment, and curated networking opportunities designed to foster meaningful connections within the boating and luxury lifestyle communities. Some of the top players in the market, including SkipperBud’s, Weber Yachts, CenterPointe Marine, Spring Brook, Manitowoc Marina, Gage Marine, Jefferson Beach Yacht Sales, Basa’s Marine, Sail Place, SailTime, and Jerry’s Majestic Marine, have already committed to the show—ensuring an unmatched selection for boating enthusiasts and potential buyers alike.
A Welcome Return to Lake Michigan
“For over a decade, a proper in-water boat show has been missing from lower Lake Michigan, and it has been greatly missed by manufacturers, dealers, and consumers that call our beautiful lakefront home,” said Kyle Stenzel, President & Owner of Spring Brook Marina & Yacht Sales. “Now that Navy Pier Marina is slated to open in 2025, we have the ideal venue to put on a world-class boat show. Revel Republic is a respected name in the events space already and has had proven success on the West Coast with their Newport Beach and San Diego shows. With them taking the lead, I have no doubt they will produce a proper boat show at the new Navy Pier Marina that Lake Michigan boaters will appreciate. Our team, our clients, and our manufacturers will fully support their efforts and do everything in our power to help not only make this a great experience, but a great buying opportunity for consumers.”
“The city of Chicago and the entire Midwest should be extremely excited about the new Chicago International Boat Show at Navy Pier Marina,” said Chris Weber of Weber Yachts. “An easily accessible, large-scale, in-water boat show in the height of the summer is something that our region has been missing for a long time. The ability to view new, brokerage, and used boats all in one location will be warmly welcomed by vendors and enthusiasts alike. It will truly be ‘one-stop shopping,’ and will be great to have a vibrant boat show back in Chicagoland!”
This event follows the momentum of the Newport Beach International Boat Show (May 1 – 4, 2025) and the San Diego International Boat Show (June 19 – 22, 2025), both known for redefining the traditional boat show format. Attendees can expect an immersive blend of luxury yachts, exotic cars, private aviation exhibits, fine jewelry showcases, and world-class culinary offerings.
Keith Ogulnick: A Homecoming for a Chicago Native
“Having been born and raised in Chicago, I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t awestruck by this great city and its magnificent lakefront,” said Keith Ogulnick, Boat Show Director, Chicago International Boat Show at Navy Pier Marina. “Over the past 16 years, I had the honor and privilege of managing the Chicago Boat Show at McCormick Place. During that time I was able to truly understand the incredible passion of the Chicago area boaters, dealers, and manufacturers that are so critical to supporting that lifestyle. Having the opportunity to combine that experience with an iconic venue like Navy Pier provides the perfect canvas for a world-class in-water boat show, and I’m truly excited to join the outstanding Revel Republic team and look forward to producing this amazing event!”
Keith Ogulnick has been part of the event production industry for over 40 years, having managed his first show at McCormick Place in 1978. He has spent his 40+ year career producing leading events in multiple industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, banking, sporting goods, and outdoor recreation. Keith managed one of the largest fishing and travel shows in the country for 12 years prior to spending 16 years as Show Manager of the Chicago Boat Show at McCormick Place. He has a passion for producing events and enjoys all aspects of the process, especially working with a talented team. He has strong communication and leadership skills and prides himself on the role played in the growth and development of the event, as well as the growth of his fellow team members.
